I’m not sure if I like it but I’ve looked at this picture for near on 10 minutes. If anything can force the transition from a content ‘consumer’ to a content ‘appreciator,’ and this picture does exactly that, then it deserves a reblog.
Discovering Alfred Kubin

I came across the work of Austrian artist Alfred Kubin on a recent trip to New York. These beautifully rendered yet disturbing images have a tremendous depth of feeling.
They seem to be part of the lineage that traces back to Goya and his equally disturbing set of prints that describe his nightmares.
I’m looking forward to seeing more of his work.
